March 2025
Yay!!! My first table of the year was a big one - my first ever table at Leeds, in the Corn Exchange! I can’t believe I’ve sold my work in one of THE coolest spots in Leeds. Feeling very proud of my progress!
My first stall of 2025!
And even more incredible goings on, I’m going to have my greeting cards and prints in a store! Simply Divine Things is opening her first store in Brighouse, with lots of other amazing creators this April - and I’m preparing excitedly for the opening. I can’t wait to update you with the products in the store!

I’ve been buzzing with everything happening this year, it’s going quickly but there’s lots of great things in progress.
I also shared my first post about my MS diagnosis - I’m hoping sharing more on my journey with this will bring light to the subject, but also be quite cathartic - I felt like I was wrestling with my body these last few years, and I’m almost feeling myself again now that I know what it all means/is. If you missed that post, you can find it here.

Wow, March was so busy - I’m thinking that I need to share my latest read with you (as well as some of my art), that I picked up while away in York - Tim Bird’s graphic novel (fellow MA Illustration alumni at Falmouth Uni) Adrift on a Painted Sea. I felt a bit dizzy and fatigued after walking around for a while, which I think is just a thing that happens to me now when I have too much fun - I was with my husband, and we decided to head to the railway museum - I love NRM by the way, would also recommend - but I was exhausted, so I parked myself on a bench in front of one of the prettiest trains to ever exist (Mallard) and proceeded to read my new book that I had bought 30 minutes prior. I read it all in one sitting, and I weeped, especially with the depiction of grief, and elements of the north Yorkshire beaches showcased within. I highly recommend the book, it’s a beautiful read.

With all my progress with tables and posting about my health too, I started to feel a bit like I needed to slow down with my comics. I have taken the first week of April to reflect, and this has given me a new burst of energy to keep going with them and come back next week with new and fresh ideas. In saying this - now when I look back on Cinder and Saffie’s month, there’s been some really cute illustrations - I shouldn’t be too hard on myself (a lesson I always need to learn) I’m really pleased with how things are going, and I think April is going to have even more to report on!
See you on the next one!
Mia :)
